unit 1A research for creative Media Production

Blog Post

These are the 5 questions that I had to find out, to answer and investigate:

1. The most popular games console in the class, and the top game played.
2. The radio stations that people listen to and their favourite DJ.
3. The number of times people visit the cinema and what film they saw last.
4. How many people have satellite TV and how many hours they watch in an average week.
5. Which social network site and how many contacts do they have on it.

The answers to these 5 questions were:
1. The Wii and Just Dance.
2. Kiss and most people don’t have a favourite DJ.
3. Five people visited the cinema regularly and Step Up 3D.
4. Thirteen people have satellite TV at home and most people watch 14 – 28 hours per week.
5. Face book and most people have 200+ contacts.

To get all of this information we done our own questionnaire answered by the students in our class. Everyone filled the questionnaire, and gave it back to the teacher, the teacher then photocopied the questionnaire and gave them back to our group and us. When then went onto the Macs and copied the questionnaire into a spreadsheet.

We then sorted by each question. For example to get the most popular   games console we searched games consoles. And the same for the other  questions.

Evaluation on my tv listings magazine

TV magazine project

We were asked to create a TV listings magazine front cover, we analysed three different front covers including TV choice, TV quick, and radio times to figure out the target market and the social class that they were aiming for.
The magazine I choose to do was stated as a middle class, around the price to 99p- £1.00. I got my ideas from TV choice and analysed to my best ability. I focused well on what I would like to see on my magazine. I designed my magazine myself with lots of different ideas. To not over crowd and make my magazine go down into the lower class section, I added some good amount of detail and getting the colour coordination right.  The reason why I choose this sort of class magazine was because, this magazine would catch my eye in a shop because it would be something that I would read myself, as it don’t look boring and crowded its spreaded around.
The main feature of my magazine and focus on my front cover is “ the only way is Essex”, which is based on ITV2. I no this programme is popular and lots of people watch it.  As I no myself there is no magazine on this programme so it would be good if it had one. I used sutal colours to blend in with my main feature, my picture.
